Surveying Crew Chief

Precision Engineering is seeking an experienced and motivated Surveying Crew Chief to join our team. In this role, you will lead field crews and manage projects related to boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the accuracy and completeness of field data, communicating with clients to meet their needs, managing project timelines, coordinating with project managers, and maintaining project budgets.

Responsibilities:

- Lead field crews in conducting boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.

- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of field data.

- Communicate with clients to understand and fulfill their surveying needs.

- Manage project timelines and coordinate with project managers.

- Maintain project budgets and ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.

- Utilize surveying equipment, such as total stations and GPS receivers, to gather field data.

- Prepare and review survey reports, field notes, and other related documentation.

- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced crew members.

- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve any survey-related challenges.

- Stay updated with industry advancements, techniques, and equipment.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a surveying crew chief.

- Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.

- Proficiency with GPS and total station equipment.

- Experience with AutoCAD or Carlson software is preferred, but not required.

- Ability to effectively lead a team and ensure project efficiency.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organizational and time management abilities.

- Ability to work in diverse environments and adapt to changing field conditions.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Successful completion of a background check and drug test.
